INSIDE OUTSIDE
This project is a part of my ongoing final major project based around the concept of freedom, within this project I unveil the inner mind of participants, showing the exterior of the individual in comparison with their form of escapism.
Within this project I experimented with software that I had previously been inexperienced in and through this project have been able to build my skill within that area.
This project is important to me as escapism is a big element of my own personal struggles with mental health and it has given me a platform to share these experiences and individuality of these experiences, to showcase the idea that we aren't alone in our struggles.
To inform this project I spoke to over 20 people and interview friends, family and peers about their personal experiences with escapism - I transferred these into illustrations of the person that were created to be recognisable but not necessarily pinpoint the identity. For those that preferred to stay anonymous I had volunteers model based on the stories they most identified with from the responses.
